Watch your thoughts, for they become words.
Watch your words, for they become actions.
Watch your actions, for they become habits.
Watch your habits, for they become character.
Watch your character, for it becomes your destiny.

Sometimes when I'm talking, my words can't keep up with my thoughts. I wonder why we think faster than we speak. Probably so we can think twice.
~Bill Waterson

Spiteful words can hurt your feelings but silence breaks your heart.

For all sad words of tongue and pen, The saddest are these, "It might have been".
~John Greenleaf Whittier

Whatever words we utter should be chosen with care for people will hear them and be influenced by them for good or ill.
~Buddha

memoirs of a geisha
August 4, 2005 @ 07:27 PM
[in review]

another review...

before i say something about the novel, i'm gonna show you a sneak peak at the movie...

this is chiyo or more known by her geisha name Nitta Sayuri

this is Sayuri as an apprentice geisha with.... you got it! he's the Chairman!!!

young chiyo with the hatest character in the novel, Hatsumomo! i thought this was Satsu... she actually looked nice in this pic, don't you think?

anyway, i read the novel because i knew that amovie was coming out and i don't like watching a movie based on a novel when i haven't read that book so i borrowed from a friend and.... it was so amazing if i could rate it now i'd give a ...... just wait for the rating... hahaha

anyway, i'm not going to be a spoiler unlike my othe reviews, forgive me if i feel so much like a critic, i do find pleasure in making reviews... hahaha... makes me feel important..... hahaha

anyway, i thought the novel was based on a true story but like "angels and Demons" and "the Da Vinci code" the facts are real but the characters and the storyline is not.... i really wished it was real... to read about a real geisha.....

we've often mistaken geisha's a prostitutes but that's not the case... sure a geisha entertains but in a more sophisticated manner, if a geisha wants to do something with her customer she may do so but on her own account, whatever happens next will be completely her responsibilty...

they have rules for these... a geisha has to do this and that at a certain time when somebody has said it...

if you really want to know what a geisha's life id like... i suggest you read it.....

it's too much good of a book to ruin by telling you the story.... the storyline is so real you'll actually think that it did happen....

one of the best books i've ever read....

one thing that i'm gonna say, i find the ending kinda sad... if you have any other reaction to how it ended... or how you think it ended, i would want to know about it... so there...

now for the rating...

what can i say.... it's really good!!!

here, take a look at why sayuri was such a successful geisha... just look at her eyes...

what do you think? THE FAMOUS SAYURI EYES
