Way back 2009, I was a frequent customer at The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, Tomas Morato branch in Manila. I used to go there every week, with the then-lovelife. We would eat cheesecakes and coffee while I work. There was a time when I was there almost everyday for 2 weeks, when I was rushing the production of my indie comic book. And during those times, I became friends with a barista named Hayce.
Then around October of 2010, I wasn't frequenting CBTL as much, and I was already single that time. I saw Hayce again, but at CBTL Trinoma. And she recognized me! She even looked for my "friend" that she usually saw me with back then.
(More on that event here: link)
Now, flash forward to 2012: I'm back for good in Davao. And as Angel (the barista here), took my usual order of Double Vanilla Tea Latte.. another girl at the counter looked at me and said:
her: "You're from Manila, right?"
me: "yeah... why?"
her: "You look familiar.."
me: "Wait.. what's your name?"
her: "Hay.."
me: "HAYCE!!! OH MY GOD!! IT'S YOU!!"
And so again we chatted a bit. She says she's handling Cebu-Davao now, so I assume she's already a manager for CBTL. Wow. Level-up!
She was saying that she asked the barista to print out the name from my swirl card to check my name because I looked so familiar. haha.
Amazing that we still recognize each other! Happy moment, indeed!
Watch your words, for they become actions.
Watch your actions, for they become habits.
Watch your habits, for they become character.
Watch your character, for it becomes your destiny.
Sometimes when I'm talking, my words can't keep up with my thoughts. I wonder why we think faster than we speak. Probably so we can think twice.

Spiteful words can hurt your feelings but silence breaks your heart.
For all sad words of tongue and pen, The saddest are these, "It might have been".

Whatever words we utter should be chosen with care for people will hear them and be influenced by them for good or ill.
